Issue:  The Pro Gold XP program consists of two parts; the program itself and the database that stores the data. An installation of the Pro Gold XP program needs to link to an existing Pro Gold XP database in order to function. Once the database is placed on the computer/server that will house it, the Pro Gold XP program needs to link to the database. If the database location is moved or altered, then Pro Gold XP will need to be relinked to the database.

Resolution:  The steps to link or relink to an existing database are listed below:

•          Pro Gold XP requires access to Taro Systems, Inc. server in order to operate correctly and perform updates. In some cases, the ports required to access Taro Systems, Inc. server are blocked by a router or firewall. Ensure that the following ports are not being blocked (this may require the help of your computer tech):

-          Outbound TCP port 21 (used for FTP Communication)

-          Outbound TCP port 5500-6500 (used for FTP Data Transfer)

-          Outbound TCP port 1433 (used for SQL Server Communication)

•          Locate the Pro Gold XP database

-          Note: The path to where the database is saved must be known and be accessible to the computer that Pro Gold XP was just installed on.

-          If the database path is not known, go to a computer that already has Pro Gold installed and log in.

-          In the bottom right corner of the screen is a path that shows where the database is located.

•          Link to the Pro Gold XP database.

-          Open Pro Gold XP.

-          Click “Options” from the login screen and click the “Relink” button.

-          The No Database Found screen will appear

-          Use the Browse button to locate the Pro Gold XP database

•          Note: If the exact path of the database is known, then the path can be typed directly into the Database File Path field.

-          Click “Ok”.

-          Log into Pro Gold XP.

•          Relink to the Pro Gold XP database.

-          Open Pro Gold XP.

-          Click “Options” from the login screen and click the “Relink” button.

-          Use the Browse button to locate the Pro Gold XP database.

•          Note: If the exact path of the database is known, then the path can be typed directly into the Database File Path field.

-          Click “Ok”.

-          Log into Pro Gold XP.
